User's expectations in mobile apps are constantly changing and are getting higher with time. No matter what type of mobile application you’re developing whether it’s an e-commerce platform, a social media app, or any other category, you should understand what your users are expecting from this app to ensure its success.

In this blog, we’ll explore what users expect to have in mobile apps and why is it important for your business to have them in your mobile app.

1. Speed

It’s 2025 and we’re still saying that users expect fast performance and speed. It’s not obsolete or old information, surprisingly, it’s 2025 and still some businesses have slow loading apps that drive their users away.

According to studies, 53% of users abandon mobile apps if the loading time takes longer than 3 seconds.

Users expect instant loading, easy and smooth transitions between screens, and as minimal lag during these interactions and transitions as possible.

2. Well-considered UI/UX

Yet again, another important piece of information that might sound obsolete, yet many businesses ignore, is considering UI/UX.

Your mobile application must be clean and easy to navigate. A confusing layout full of information can result in frustrating users and increases bounce rate.

Your app should include a clear call-to-action button to guide the users regarding what to do, and have minimal taps to complete a certain task in the app.

3. Personalization:

Personalization is one of the most performing tech trends and users expect the app to adapt to their personal preferences and behavior

What your mobile app should include is name greetings for each user, customized product recommendations, and customized content app feed.

4. Additional functionalities:

One of the additional functionalities that users expect to have in their mobile apps is ‘offline functionality’. Offline mode in mobile apps is not obsolete part or an extra step, in fact, it’s essential

5. Security and privacy measures

With rising data breaches, users are more conscious about their personal information.

Users expect transparent privacy policies and how their data is being used, biometric authentication like fingerprints and face ID, and two-factor authentication (2FA)

6. Fast and seamless onboarding

Since first impressions matter and last, ensure your onboarding process is not long or confusing.

What you can do in this matter is have a short and simple sign-up process, add other log in options like logging in through google or socials.

Also, make sure your mobile app’s benefits are highlighted within the first 2 or 3 screens.

7. cross-device synchronization:

With people using multiple devices (phones, tablets, desktops), users want their data to sync across all platforms.

A simple example would be syncing shopping carts across multiple devices.

8. Regular updates and bug fixes:

Needless to say, mobile apps that are outdated or full of bugs get poor reviews and high uninstall rates.

Make sure to have a minimum of monthly updates, add new features based on user’s feedback, and act fast in bug and issue fixing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the best performing mobile apps are those that prioritize user experience, security, speed, and personalization. Meeting a user’s expectations is essential for retention, loyalty, and growth.

To sum everything up, meeting your user’s mobile expectation in a mobile equal happy and retained users
